WRITING & DRAMATURGY

While primarily a visual artist, Sarah has also worked as a dramaturg, collaborating and contributing to the development of new plays, beginning with Tectonic Theater Project (The Laramie Project).

Continuing her collaborations with Writer/Director Leigh Fondakowski (The People’s Temple and SPILL, as well as works-in-progress Casa Cushman and Rhondda Thomas’ Call My Name) and Gerda’s Lieutenant (Ellen Gordon Reeves & Bennett Singer).  Other dramaturgy projects include collaborations with Theater of Necessity (Playing Alexina, Measure for Measure for Measure and Stunt Man)

During the pandemic, she was co-writer with Leigh Fondakowski on an audio podcast for the 50th anniversary of Title IX: Feminist Files: the secret origin of Title IX  https://www.frequencymachine.com/feministfiles

Here are some images developed for the pitches:

An earlier project involved creating a narrative collage sketchbook from her late father’s sketches for the Brooklyn Art Library’s Sketchbook Project, titled “There’s Always Time to Sketch” by Robert J. “Jack” Lambert and Sarah Lambert.  While both the Sketchbook Project’s physical and digital library were unfortunately discontinued, a digital version still exists here: sketchbook

In 2024, Sarah adapted and directed a staged reading – Scenes from “The HOT L Baltimore” by Lanford Wilson, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Port Jervis as a benefit for the Tri-State Interfaith Council Warming Station and the Tri-States Railway Preservation Society. Here is a link to the live recording of the staging  Hot L Video

Previously, in 2019, she had contributed dramaturgically to a staged reading of The Laramie Project, also at St. Peter’s, which was directed by Patty Baughman.
